6” While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a]manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Many years ago, my wife and I were en route to Flagstaff, AZ on our way to a church conference hosted by Larry Tomczak and featured speaker, Che Ahn. We were in desperate straits as my most recent employer had filed for bankruptcy, not only owing me past wages but also a large sum of expenses that I had incurred on behalf of the company. As a result, we were forced to vacate the apartment we were living in. I was unable to find a new job and the apartment that we then rented was too small, too expensive and roach infested. Then we decided to attend a conference hoping to hear from God. The conference was beautiful. Many people were prayed over and received words from God. Some received physical healing. We were prayed over several times. However, we did not receive any discernable input from God. When we arrived back at our apartment we were devastated. We were forced to move in with relatives in Southern California. And then we heard from God. My wife was pregnant with our third child. When we revealed the news to the relatives we were living with they were not exactly overjoyed. But for my wife and I this was clearly God’s doing, and it never occurred to us to look at this other than that this was great news. God had spoken and he showed us that He still loved us. Just like Mary and Joseph we had no place to go but we knew God was with us and that child was a gift from Him.
Psalm 127:3 -5
“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward…how blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them…”
