Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before
God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are
more valuable than many sparrows.

Since all things are created (and held together) by the Word of God, He knows the
state of everything! He knows about the 5 sparrows mentioned in our verse for
today, He also knows how many hairs are on your head. One could argue that in
the case of one of my son-in-laws who is bald headed, knowing the number of
each hair on his head isn’t much of a feat! I am pleading ‘no contest’ to that, even
though, God stills knows that there are no hair to number on his head! 
We get anxious because of circumstances we are in, or things that are going on
around us. We seemingly like to worry! Yet, we just read about God telling us that
He knows the state of any random number (and kind) of animals at a random
point in time. Since He also knows the number of hair on your head – it would be
reasonable to assume that He doesn’t just (fleetingly) know you but that He
knows everything about you! Aren’t you more valuable than many sparrows? So,
why worry?

John 14:14 quotes Jesus as saying:“ If you ask Me anything in My Name, I will do
it!”
Let’s hold on to that promise!
As always we have to be careful to read all that is being said! In this case, there is
a condition for God to answer your prayer/petition:
You have to pray and make your petition “in His Name!”
Philippians 4:6-7 tells us:” 6  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7  And
the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.”
